Version Information

This dialog displays version and product information. Use it to determine the specific versions of the program and data sets that are loaded.

Magic Scout searches for each required database in the following order of priority. They do not all have to be in the same location:

  • Main device memory.
  • The default 'pdb' file directory for each media memory expansion card (if applicable).
  • The "/Palm/Program Files/MSFiles" directory for each media memory expansion (if applicable).
  • The "/Palm/Launcher" directory for each media memory expansion (if applicable).
  • The "/MagicScout" directory for each media memory expansion (if applicable).
  • The top root directory for each media memory expansion (if applicable).

    The Magic Scout Generator program lets you specify whether you want to install the generated databases to main memory, media card, or install them by hand. All of the Magic Scout databases begin with the prefix 'MagicScoutGen'. Only these databases may be moved to to media slot memory. Do not move any other databases or files that begin with 'MagicScout', or the program may not function correctly. The only exception is the 'MagicScoutHelp' file which can be deleted to save memory, or moved to any of the above media slot memory locations.
